Installing on subdomain

I am going to install it on a subdomain, did all steps given in manual, bit unable to go for installation

What i did
uploaded all files to subfolder --> set files and folders permissions --> edited setting.php file
subdomain.mysite,com/install.php
but when i go for step-2 it dosen't works

help please

Can you tell us what you put on the "BASEURL" line of the hotaru_settings.php file, and what you are trying to run it on?

this is the base url http://buzz.bollymastian.com/
but when i run http://buzz.bollymastian.com/install/index.php is dosent work.

Well, I see the installation wizard. Can you explain what you mean by "It doens't work"? Do you get an error? What does it say?

Edit: also, I would advise you to edit out the url. People might abuse the install..

Got the above error on step 3

added the created db and user name and password, but same error, how to solve this.

Well, I would think the most common errors are: wrong mysql hostname (maybe it shouldn't be localhost, if you used that), extra spaces in any of these values.

Also, you could try to add these values directly in the settings file and just let hotaru create the tables/data from there.

i checked them, no extra spaces, i tried the both methods, but result is same.

I was just putting the db name incomplete. i.e i was putting hotaru, but required was mysite_hotaru and user name as well.
This was pointed by a friend of mine, who is also using hotaru.
