Description
Akismet is an anti-spam service that automatically sends spam comments into the moderation queue. It works for both comments and posts and trains the Akismet server by sending back false-positives.

Instructions
1. Upload the "akismet" folder to your plugins folder. Install it from Plugin Management in Admin.
2. Access it from the Admin sidebar
3. Enter your Wordpress.com API key and check the boxes to enable it.

Problem with submission with Akismet enabled and correct API key added, when I try to confirm the submission of a link, I receive this error:

I receive this error:

I'm not sure, but since you're using Wamp, try this:

Open PHP->php.ini and find

;extension=php_sockets.dllRemove the semi-colon, save and try again.

If you get a "Catchable fatal error", I've made some changes here (http://my-trac.assembla.com/HotaruCMS/changeset/525) which will be in the next version.

In admin askinet setting, I can select comment or post. Surprise to see wordpress api key required and more surprise to see I have to open a wordpress.com account. Ok, guess I need wordpress account because I am using a wordpress plugin. But the implication, of a live Hotaru site going to wordpress site and when? Once, I can live with but on every askinet usage?

My Log of events for the next user: I open a wordpress account. Found askimet in wordpress feature I love. Found it and it is a site with it own url. I subscribe & selected worth of $0 to get a sour face on a personal plan (my site is not live, evaluating askinet). I am given a message that my email will contain info on how to activaate api key in wordpress.

My question to askinet:
Why is api key and instructions ONLY given for wordpress. What is the relationship between askinet and wordpress.com? Can I have a site that is not wordpress and be able to use askinet? But the implication, of a live site going to wordpress site and when? On every askinet usage?

I take the time to post this log for u might have the same concern to learn from my experience. tx
