Plugin for improve and increase traffic

What do you think about a plugin, that will help to improve and increase traffic for user of Hotar?

Something like 2leep.com, which expose some banner with live posts of their users in a kind of banner exchange system, that bring back visitors to Hotaru based site, and their users?

I like the idea of a Hotaru network, maybe a widget that lists a few, random Hotaru sites.

But! I think it would be wise to avoid any kind of centralized list of Hotaru sites, though, because that just makes it too easy for spammers to find us. My site is on so many Pligg lists... :(

I agree with nick, I remember with the pligg system a vunrebility was found in version 1.02 and they ended up turning off there gallery and requesting pligg list sites to go offline while users upgraded.if vunrabilties are found in hotaru as they surely will at some stage then the last thing we want is to be exposed. I also think a widget like that would only be worthwhile if the linked to sites are relevant to your niche.

No of course, not my intention, I try to better explain:

I don't want to make a list of hotaru sites, for spammers, hackers or what you want. My idea is totally different:

1) in our site (Hotaru based) a plugin/widget shows some related banners of news submitted by the users of Hotaru (not hotaru owner)
2) any websites which use Hotaru, can add a simple code to show the same banners on their page to drive and increase traffic to Hotaru and other user
3) all this to tempt more webmasters to signup in our Hotaru site, and building a solid system to exchange relating traffic and visitors
