Hotaru 1.4.1 is here already! Can you believe it? And this is more than just a patch.
shibuya246 (http://forums.hotarucms.org/member.php?3-shibuya246) has rejoined us from Tokyo to bring back automatic plugin updates, petsagouris (http://forums.hotarucms.org/member.php?817-petsagouris) has been busy updating core code with some clever PHP 5 tricks to make Hotaru evermore efficient, and I've been working on the incredible custom usergroups (http://forums.hotarucms.org/entry.php?94-New-Custom-Usergroups-Feature)feature! :cool:
~~~~~~
If you're new here and wondering what exactly Hotaru CMS is, think of it as "Wordpress without blogging". If Wordpress didn't do blogging by itself, you'd need plugins to do it for you. And if you had to make plugins, you wouldn't be limited to just blogging. You could make plugins for any kind of site, whether a blog, a social network, an online shop, etc. That's Hotaru CMS, a framework for making websites customized to your needs. For examples, check out the demos (http://demo.hotarucms.org/).
Hotaru v.1.4.1 contains numerous bug fixes and new features since version 1.4 (http://forums.hotarucms.org/showthread.php?950-Hotaru-CMS-1.4-Released).
Download Hotaru CMS 1.4.1 here (http://forums.hotarucms.org/showthread.php?986-Download-Hotaru-CMS-1.4.1)
Here are some of the changes since Hotaru 1.4:
[Fixed] Custom meta description and keywords not overriding the defaults in some cases
[Fixed] Avatar class preventing the default avatar showing for anonymous users
[Fixed] Broken Admin logout link
file and time functions updated for efficiency
[Updated] RSS Writer class updated for PHP 5
[New] Additional UserBase methods for managing custom user permission groups
[New] VoteFunctions class to simplify vote implementation
[New] Hotaru link inserted into the footer if removed from the theme
[Revived] Automatic plugin updates and Hotaru version notification
As for plugins, the latest versions of User Manager and Post Manager use persistent filters and give you a choice of how many rows to show per page. User Manager allows the creation of custom user permission groups and has a new filter called "Content Pending" so you can quickly approve or ban users without hopping backwards and forwards between the different Manager plugins. Activity has been updated to show the default avatar for anonymous users, Submit with Bookmarking can now handle anonymous submissions (not that I recommend it), and bugs were fixed in User Signin, Submit and Comments. Grab the latest plugin pack (http://forums.hotarucms.org/showthread.php?79-Quick-Start-Plugin-Packs) and the Activity (http://forums.hotarucms.org/showthread.php?227-Activity-1.0) plugin and you should be all set. :D
Updating:
[U]Templates: The only notable plugin template changes I can think of were in bookmarking_list.php and bookmarking_post.php. A check was added (http://my-trac.assembla.com/HotaruCMS/changeset/2089/branches/1.5/content/plugins/bookmarking/templates) to see if the post author is anonymous. You can ignore this addition if you don't allow anonymous post submissions.
CSS: comments.css has a minor change. Look for #post_comments_admin (http://my-trac.assembla.com/HotaruCMS/changeset/2049/branches/1.4/content/plugins/comments/css)
Language: A few changes here. See changes in the latest English language pack (http://www.assembla.com/code/HotaruExtensions/subversion/changesets/180).
Wrap-up:
