Hi,
i updated Hotaru and it was ok.
When i turned on plugins, I see some ones that needs update like Activity from 1.0 to 1.1 or Vote etc....
I updated all and i expect to see all plugins updated.
Instead i see all plugins as before with update icons turned on, like i never started update process.:mad:
It's a problem of sight or....?
Thanx
Lele

Have you tried a hard refresh ? (Ctrl+F5)
Open "/hotaru_directory/content/plugins/some_upgraded_plugin_folder/readme.txt" and see if the version in there has been changed, if yes the plugin was updated.

Did you click on the green + button and then see the info box, where it says "update this plugin", then click on that, or did you try something different.
If you tried the above, did an error message in red appear at all?

I just tried the hard refresh... no result....
Only submit plugin is updated (3.2 version now....) the others in the list below are "old"...
Infact on plugin page list submit compares with new version and no update icon.
These are "no-updated" plugin:
Activity 1.0
Bookmarking 0.4
Comments 2.5
User Manager 1.1
Vote 2.2
Post Manager 0.9
I forgot to tell you: i upgraded Hotaru on local.
Why Submit has no problem insted others plugins yes?
When i clicked for updating, the site responds:
Deactivated Plugin
activity-1-1.zip successful copied
activity-1-1.zip successful unzipped
Activated Plugin
The same results compared on updating the other plugins, too...
Lele
Hi emarza, could you send me a system report from Admin -> Maintenance? We need that information to help us understand the problem better. Thanks.

can you check via ftp whether the activity-1-1.zip file is in your plugins folder or in the temp folder?

@shibuya246: i clicked several times on the green "+" icon and hotaru tried to update the plugins: at the end i could see the notice on green: "that's ok!". But it's non so... I have no errors at end of processes.
I installed hotaru 1.4.1 on local... there's no folder "temp"... Tell me please the path of temp....

Ok, don't worry about temp folder. It's my development work.
Could you find zip file somewhere in your plugins folder or plugins/activity folder?
Can you open content/plugins/activity/activity.php and tell me what version is says at top of file?
Thx

Activity 1.0 and no zip anywhere :(
As you can see in the system report the six plugin have the old version and the new version in the brackets.... Aren't they unusual?
what do they mean?
i.e.
4. activity v.1.0 (1.1) [enabled]
10. comments v.2.5 (2.6) [enabled]
20. user_manager v.1.1 (1.2) [enabled]
24. vote v.2.2 (2.3) [enabled]
Instead the plugin
13. dummy_data v.0.2 (0.1) [enabled]
is the opposite example  but it's another matter. :p
Submit is the unique plugin that i updated well with no problem and the system reports fine:
21. submit v.3.2 (3.2) [enabled]
A question:
if i try to clean all cache in maintenance, what will happen?

The number before brackets is your current plugin version number. The number in brackets is the latest version that your site has been notified of.
Where the plugin has 0.2 but latest version says 0.1 it just means that your site does not know about their being a 0.2 version to download. It won't affect you using 0.2 at all. Nothing to worry about.
Looks like the auto download didn't work on your server for some reason. I am going to do more testing on error messages to find out why you are not getting a red error message come up.
In the meantime I recommend manually uploading the plugin folders you want to update to their respective places instead of using the auto update.
Thx for your help. When I have more info I will let you know. This is new feature. It works on some servers but not others. We are working to make it ok for everyone if we can.

It is safe to clear all the cache folders from Admin -> Maintenance. You can do it anytime without worry.

Ok.... I tried to upgrade hotaru in www.4deafs.it, my official site....
mmmmh.... the upgrade process was ok.
when i tried to upgrade the plugins, they came back with an error:
activity-1-1.zip successfully copied
Error during unzip activity-1-1.zip
Activated Plugin
Submit came back with the same error, too. In localhost submit plugin was udated without problem...
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH damn.....
I attach here the system report of the site on-line....
What do you think?
If you want i'll try to cancel all hotaru and re-install as new.... There're not matter for me doing this test....1309
Tell me....
Lelel
Thank you for testing this, Lele. I don't think reinstalling Hotaru will make any difference. The problem is most likely to do with file ownership on your server. Could you tell us who your web host is, and are you on a shared server? Cheers.

My plug-ins are all working well with 1.4 upgrade. Plus, I wanted to say thank you to Nick for adding Pending Posts on the front admin panel. Saves time and helps me feel organized.
