Installation Errors

My site was new so i decided to total new installation, during this i got this error



what is this, how can i fix this.

It looks like you haven't put in your database details correctly.

What i did

created a DB named hotaru ---> created a username and password --> renamed the setting_default.php file to setting.php ---> changed the DB name with above by editing setting.php DB details ----> changed unsername and password which i created during making DB ---> run setup by mysite.com/install/index.php ---> step2 and error above, where i am wrong???

Got this error in step 3

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in /home/fixedmar/public_html/functions/funcs.strings.php on line 28

how to fix it?

You might need to add your database prefix before the database name and username, e.g. "hotaru_hotaru".

As for the fatal error, make sure the mbstring PHP extension is enabled on your server. Check with your web host if you are unsure about this.

I had the same problem when i installed hotaru, and in the end the problem was that i didnt add the username to the hotaru db, i just created it and thought it was automatically added.

After i added the username to the hotaru db it installed properly
