I know you can reduce it by going into the settings for the Submit plugin in Admin. You can also uncheck it, making it not even appear. I know that isn't making it "optional" but it might be a temporary solution.
You could go into the code and add a line that says to the affect if($description)=="", $description = "no description"
i can only reduce it to " 1 "..
and i cant uncheck it, because the yonda theme has an error that screws up the alignment if i uncheck it..
so i was hoping to be able to change the description limit to zero and hope that works..
i guess its somewhere in submit_settings.php or submit.php that the limit is set..
but i am having some trouble finding it...
im thinking that if it can be done with the number of characters in passwords..
it might work for minimal numbers of characters in description..

I am having the same problem. It would be nice to be able to make the description optional.
Setting the value to just zero should be possible somewhere in the scipt. I am not sure where to find it.
Can anyone give a few pointers?
So i am guessing that noone has an idea of how to edit either the number of characters or how to make it optional.
So i got a new idea as of how to solve the problem
Is it possible to insert prewritten text into the description field, and that way make description optional as the text is already inserted and only edited if a user wants to?
