    Default Wanted: Hotaru Team Members

Thank you for your interest in becoming a team member. We are looking for people enthusiastic about Hotaru CMS and keen to see it develop into a popular open source platform. You don't need to be a programmer to get involved.

If one or more of the following roles appeals to you, please send me a private message with a request and brief description of why you want to get involved. These roles or a combination of them will be used as your title in the forums. If accepted, I'll send you a request to join the team on Assembla.

    Update:
I've had quite a lot of requests to this, so I've decided to ask for a minimum of 30 forum posts before considering any more new team members.

Tester - somebody who can accept private message requests from developers to test new features on the Hotaru SVN. If you've never used Subversion before, that's okay, we can help get you set up.

Moderator - someone who can help keep the forums organized. Ideally, you will have had experience moderating forums before. Experience with vBulletin is a bonus. Most moderation duties involve moving posts to the most suitable forum.

Designer - somebody who is comfortable with CSS, basic PHP and has experience making or modifying Wordpress themes or similar.

Graphic designer - someone with an artistic flair who can contribute custom graphics for the default themes or Hotaru CMS website.

Developer - whether you're a PHP newbie or a veteran programmer, you are welcome to contribute to the Hotaru codebase or plugin development. If you're lacking PHP skills we want to teach you if you want to learn.

Marketer - someone confident in using social media, preferably with profiles across a number of social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Digg, StumbleUpon and FriendFeed. Our goal is to spread the word about Hotaru far and wide, so if you can help us do that via status updates, blog posts or articles, we would like to hear from you.

Technical Writer - anyone who feels they can improve the quality and coherency of the documentation section is welcome to try.

Translator - we're looking to build a collection of language packs so if you can help translate language files, excellent!

Sponsor - we won't say no to some financial support!

Being part of an established open source team can increase your web reputation. It allows you to demonstrate in a public manner your various skills and makes them available for others to review. This can attract partnership opportunities, job openings, interviews, etc.

I look forward to hearing from you!
