Default Comments Widget won't appear on the front page

Ok, I finished importing my swcms to hotaru but the comments widget doesn't show up on the front page. However, when I click a story, the comments widget shows up. I'm wondering where I'm going wrong.

BTW, I've cleared all the cache files and I've tried switching the widget on/off. Also, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Oops sorry about that Nick Opened it again.

EDIT: Also noticed that if I enable and place any widget below the comments widget, the widget placed below the comments widget doesn't show up (on the home page i.e.).

Hi Nick, I emptied the comments table and added a test comment and the comment widget showed up on the home page. So it believe it is a database issue. I'm currently importing the comments table bit by bit and checking if that really is the case. Thanks again.

That doesn't sound good. The Pligg Importer assigns updated user, post, vote, comment ids, etc. to everything and maps the new ones to the old ones in a temporary table. If you only import your comments table without the rest, the ids won't match and the import will be a mess.

Anyway, I hope you work it out, and I'm happy to take a look when the site's open if you need me to.

Hi Nick. then what should my approach be? The site works fine on my localhost and the import was flawless. BTW, after completing the import on my localhost, here's what I did (might be stupid so please don't laugh ):

    1. Export the individual tables as sql files on my localhost.
    2. Opened my online database, and imported the individual tables one by one (no particular order followed - as in, which table should be imported first)

Is this the correct approach? All the comments/votes/posts are mapped perfectly. It's just this comments widget that fails to show up on my online site. In fact, if I place the comments widget above the other widgets, the other widgets don't show up at all.

EDIT: I've unlocked the site and it is there for you to have a look at.

    Just to clarify:

    1. You imported your site from SWCMS to Hotaru with WampServer using the Pligg Importer
    2. You then exported each table individually as sql files
    3. You imported them into your online site one by one?

If so, then yes, that approach should work.

I notice if you click "Latest Comments" from the widget, the comments page stops rendering after the breadcrumbs - no sidebar, no footer, nothing. Maybe check your error log for clues.

Thanks Nick, where can I locate this error log? Ask my hosting company?
It's perfect on my localhost. I tried importing the whole thing again online, same old story.

There's an error log in Admin -> Maintenance -> Debug. Not sure if you'll find anything there, though.
