    Question Chinese Language

    Hi

I just found you and registered. Haven't even had the time to download and start using yet, but very excited at the prospect...

Do you have a Chinese language translation? If not I would be more than happy to create it, and Korean.

    Thanks

    Hi Gibby, welcome to Hotaru.

It would be fantastic if we had language packs for Chinese, Korean (and Dutch, ties). I'm not sure how well Hotaru would handle the kanji, but this would be a great opportunity to add better support for non-roman languages.

Take Hotaru for a spin first, and if you like it, then YES, language packs would absolutely rock!

A vanilla Hotaru installation has two language files: admin_language.php and main_language.php. Language files used in plugins would need to be copied into a theme's languages folder so that they override the originals. That folder would essentially be the "language pack".

To clarify, a translation of Hotaru only consists of two fairly small files. Beyond those, individual plugins would be translated. They wouldn't necessarily need to be done all in one go, or by one person, but could be added to a growing pack of (Chinese) language files over time.

If you'd like to get very involved in Hotaru, as a translation coordinator or otherwise, take look at "Wanted: Hotaru Team Members".

    Cheers.
