    wget -O /dev/null http://yoursite.com/content/plugins/cron/cron.php

I understand that the cron plugin emulates that functions for websites which have no access to cron , but for other who have, how do I go about it ? Loading time for the website will be reduced if I use the real cron and not the one emulated.
I have looked a few times to enable this feature, but each time there has been a difficulty in getting it to work. I recommend the cron plugin at the moment.

    hi Shibuya,

because i got like many rss feeds , my site is very slow when i access it, probably because of the cron plugin which perform its function when its triggered by a visit..it takes like way over 10 sec to load up...so I was thinking that if I can transfer the load of the cron plugin to the server side cron job, then its gonna load faster.Where exactly did u have troubles in getting the autoreader to work ? I can see its based on simplipie wp plugin which has a server side cron function integrated into it but ..if u can "throw me a freking bone"... I can take a shut at the code and look deeper into it.(I am familliar with php).

The whole project is open source so if your familiar with php you should be able to quickly find the commented out section for Linux cron jobs.

Your request for a 'freking bone' sounds a bit strange. I wrote this plugin for free, have released five upgrades to it based on user feedback, am providing support here in the forums and the code is all freely viewable under the open source license. My patience for dealing with ungrateful comments is not unlimited. If you feel hard done by you might want to try some Microsoft products instead!

The cron jobs to load rss will not load on each page load of your site. They will only run on the scheduled interval, hourly, daily etc. There may be something else on your site which is causing the ten seconds delay. What is the URL of your site so I can see.

    Hi Shibuya,

the remark "freking bone" = Austin Powers ...was just a line from that movie, nothing to do with your super support and skills which I can tell are excelent..My apologies, I misplaced that line in the wrong context . Yeas, I start analysing the autoreader_functions.php in the lib folder.

    well, i just figured out,
My issue was when i click on "campaign" or "add new campaign" Nothing happens, but the plugin is conflicting with "Bookmarking 0.1"
So i just disabled the Bookmarking 0.1 and everything started working,

I hope this will help other users.

    Thanks,
    Matt

How about the ability to assign a random vote number on import?
