SMTP Settings and Contact Us plugin: Are they related? How to go about it?

I was testing Contact Us 0.2 but I frequently got this undefined constant SMTP error. At first I thought it was because I was still on 1.1.1. I upgraded last night to 1.1.3 but I'm still getting the following undefined constant SMTP error.

Notice: Use of undefined constant SMTP_ON - assumed 'SMTP_ON' in <ServerPath>/html/content/plugins/contact_us/contact_us.php on line 108]

Upon looking at the Settings page in the Admin (1.1.3), I noticed the following SMTP settings (pic). So couple of questions:
1. Do I need to necessarily turn SMTP ON in the Settings page in order to use the Contact Us 0.2 plugin?
2. If yes, what values should I enter in the following fields?

Are you using Contact Us 0.2? I just downloaded it and there's no SMTP_ON on line 108. It got changed to SMTP in version 0.2.

You don't need to use SMTP email authentication unless your server requires it. In your case, you can probably leave it off.
