Please make sure that the plugin order is correct. This means running the Post Promotion plugin first in order.

This plugin is awesome but for some reason the votes aren't displayed right and here is the live site with the problem.
And the following is the css code I modified...the rest code of the plugin is untouched.
    Document : post_promotion

From what it seems there is no HTML inside the <div id="promoted_post_votes"></div>, I don't know what could the problem be...

    1. Try with DEBUG mode turned on to see if there are any errors.
    2. Try with the default theme to see if it's a custom theme issue.
    3. Try switching the plugin order of this plugin and Vote.
    skorpyo and petsagouris like this.

I did followed your advice Nick, and with debug on I get the following error:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /.../.../public_html/content/plugins/post_promotion/post_promotion.php on line 257
    and this:
Notice: Undefined index: votes_up in /.../.../public_html/content/plugins/post_promotion/templates/post_promotion_promoted_post.php on line 31

and the suggestions 2 and 3 have no effect...

Hi skorpyo, did u properly unpacked the plugin? once u unzipp the content u should make sure that u got the following folders inside the post_promotion folder: /css

After that u should place the corresponding files inside the folders.I had that error also.

many thanks for the great plugin. I have so few problems, however. I've configured the plugin can view this 30 article. this works well. but if I disable an article and go back to my home. it can happen to me just an empty div is displayed. Why?

EDIT: I have an idea for this plugin. as if I can set in the admin panel how long would the article is promoted. let's say I put "3 days on ". After three days the item will automatically disable a cron job. I could make something like this in the plugin?

I think the plugin is a great one and i would like to use it on our website (http://www.boycottwall.com) but it does not work properly. I get the same error as some other users do:
Notice: Undefined index: votes_up in /var/www/g7373/boycottwall.com/HTML/content/plugins/post_promotion/templates/post_promotion_promoted_post.php on line 31

I read the thread and tried the fixes to no avail.
Anyone know how to fix it would be much appreciated.

I agree this is a great little plugin, but it does seem to have a few issues. Sometimes a promoted post doesn't show the vote count, in addition to the errors it throws in the logs. I've tried to debug it, but haven't been successful as of yet

Is someone trying to solve this issue with this nice plugin? I think it is really a great plugin for our website (http://www.boycottwall.com)
If someone can help me (paid if it have to be) would be great.

Each time I try to promote a post, I get some errors:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/might/public_html/content/plugins/post_promotion/post_promotion.php on line 257

Notice: Undefined index: votes_up in /home/might/public_html/content/plugins/post_promotion/templates/post_promotion_promoted_post.php on line 31

I think this plug-in is an important plug-in to get it to work. So i really hope some of the members can fix it or help us in the direction to those who have problems with it to get it to work.

Is the order of the plugin correct?
  17. danniego

    danniego New Member

Yes, I moved it up to the first column and on top. I re-installed the plug-in to no avail.
Maybe it has issues with certain themes? Are there user using it without problems and on what theme?
I try to use it on theme:hotarufiltr

Issue with a certain theme is possible. By temporarily changing current theme to default, you can test it.

I got it to work by doing the following:
I switched off the post promotion widget.
Then I switched to the default theme.
Then switched on the post promotion.
    cleared the cache.
I Promoted a post and the promotion widget works.
Then i switched back to the theme i am using (hotarufiltr)
The i promoted a post and it is working now!

Hopefully it works for others as well.
Thanks to PuckRobin who suggested to test it on the default theme! :)
