    Is this the best way to display the votes on in the post extra fields area?

    skorpyo Well-Known Member

    no...I didn't place it on the extra fields at all...with that code you can place it in other places except extra fields...I haven't tried it...

    I update the plugins vote and user manger to last versions. but when I activate them again this error occurs:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '"', expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING in .../content/themes/isis/languages/comment_manager_language.php on line 70

    meanwhile I am using language pack folder in my theme folder with its changed files. If these two plugins are not compatible with comment_manager or sthing else happened?

    Please provide the "comment_manager_language.php" file from your languages folder...

    You have a kind of setting problem. As someone logs in you can see that http://redirect.main-hosting.com/error404.php/3 not found error is shown on your home page. Press Ctrl+Shift+J when using google Chrome.

    Double check your .htaccess and all of your Hotaru settings.

    Hm, I log in without problems by test account.

    But now I'm totally confused, installed hotaru on another host and there the script works correctly. Apparently the problem comes from the host, but I have no idea what can be done.

    Yes I could login too. But did you check the error as I suggested on both hosts?

    It looks like a server setting problem to me too.

    I have an error when a user clicks a vote, I returned the words ? err

    i added a hack to count votes onclick at titles via vote() function.

    if a user is logged in and click the title of a post he already voted, the vote button shows that err word and the vote is not registered.

    if a guest click the title of a post, it shows the err word, but registers the vote.

    im looking for a solution too.. but im leaving with that..

    An option to promote posts from the "new" to "top" after a certain amount of unique pageviews would awesome. Can we also add cron job to have post automatically put to the front page?

    Im looking for some clarification to this if this option works.

    v.1.3 2010/02/20 - Alan- Option to automatically increase vote count when clicking a post link

    I've tried this several of times and can seem to make the the vote count increase after click on a post link!

    I know this option has been debated several times :http://forums.hotarucms.org/showthread.php?516-Click-through-counts-as-a-vote&highlight=share

    Would somebody be kind enough to let me know.

    I just tested this and can confirm that, if your Vote plugin settings has a check in "Automatically count a users vote when they click on the URL link," it does not increase the vote count when someone clicks on the post's link. So I don't think it works anymore.

    if you just want to change the color, you can change the css styling for

    if you want to restyle the html and css you can copy the vote_button.php file into your theme and then edit away :)

    I havent seen the vote count keep going up. I will take a look

    there is a css class for

    .vote_color_top_just_voted {
            background-color: #f99555;
    vote_color_top_just_voted {
            background-color: #f0f0aa;
    You can copy the css theme for the vote plugin into your theme folder and change the css colors there

    Here's how Hotaru finds the css it needs:
    1. Check the css folder in the user's theme for bookmarking.css (for example)
    2. If not found, check the css folder in the default theme
    3. If not found, use the css file from the plugin
    That means you can copy all the plugin css files to your own css folder.
